NCM has warned people to be on the lookout for precipitation during outdoor activities and to take precautions for ‘hazardous weather events’
On Tuesday morning, the UAE National Meteorological Center issued yellow and orange rain alerts for the first time this winter.
Videos circulating on social media show roads in parts of the country flooded with rainwater. The @Storm_centre Twitter account posted clips from the east coast.
The water appears to be a few centimeters deep on the roads in areas such as Khorfakkan.
The NCM earlier issued yellow and orange alerts for rain. Yellow alerts mean people should be “on the lookout” when going outside. Orange alerts mean that dangerous weather events are expected and people should follow the advice given by the authorities.
