According to a report, it is now possible to apply for an entry permit extension online via the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customers and Port Security website or smart app.
Those who meet all the requirements and conditions can be granted the extension within 48 hours.
According to the report of the Arab daily Emarat Al Youm, the extension period depends on the type of entry permit that has been issued. He added that the smart service is available 24 hours a day, all week.
Here are the steps to request an extension:
- Register and create an account in the intelligent service system.
- Apply and pay the required fees.
However, the report notes that the passport of the sponsored person must be valid for at least 6 months and that the application for a tourist entry permit must be made by the tourist company concerned.

An extension is valid for 30 days – twice – and costs 610 Dh. For GCC residents, a request for a 30-day extension costs Dh260 and must be accompanied by a copy of the passport, according to the newspaper.
The extension may exceed one month in three cases:
- Entry permit for health care – which could be extended to 90 days for 510 Dh.
- The entry permit of those accompanying GCC citizens, which could be extended for 60 days for 260 Dh
- Study permit – which could be extended for 90 days for 610 Dh.
The new regulations, according to the newspaper, also stipulated the period of stay for visit entry permits. The period will be identified according to the purpose of the visitor’s visit and at the discretion of the authority and shall not exceed one year.
The head of the authority can extend the visit entry permit if there is a serious reason for the request and provided that all fees are paid, the newspaper said.
