Abu Dhabi: Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Presidential Court and Chairman of the Emirati Talent Competitiveness Council, announced the expansion of the government’s salary support program to all Emirati employees working in the private and banking sector before and after the launch of the Nafis program.
The move is in line with directives from the President of the United Arab Emirates, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Dubai.
In line with the government’s recently expanded salary support scheme, Emiratis in all jobs who receive a monthly salary not exceeding Dh30,000 will have a financial allowance.
The decision will include all Emirati employees in the private and banking sectors – whether they were appointed before or after the launch of the Nafis program.
The salary support allowance will reach a maximum of 7,000 Dh for holders of a bachelor’s degree, 6,000 Dh for holders of a diploma and 5,000 Dh for holders of a secondary school diploma.
The updated program will help build partnerships and support 170,000 citizens working in the private and banking sectors over the next five years.
A family allowance of 600 Dh for each child will be granted to Emiratis with a maximum of four children, provided that the monthly salary does not exceed 50,000 Dh. Child allowance will be paid for five years.
The new rules include increasing the value of temporary financial support for those who have lost their jobs, including financial support for family members and extending the period of support to a maximum of 12 months.
Sheikh Mansour also announced the expansion of the Nafis program to include all employees from various disciplines and levels in the medical and healthcare sector.
The Nafis scheme was launched by the Emirati Talent Competitiveness Board in September 2021, with several schemes – Emirati Salary Support Scheme, Pension Program and Child Allowance Scheme.
It was launched with the aim of encouraging UAE nationals to opt for positions in the private sector.
