He had difficulty running and sitting normally following the incident
A construction worker who was injured in the line of duty received Dh50,000 in compensation for his injuries.
The Al Ain Court of Appeal upheld an earlier lower court ruling which ordered the constitution firm to pay compensation to the Asian man for the physical and material damage he suffered as a result of the incident.
Official court documents said the worker had filed a civil suit against the company demanding Dh100,000 in compensation for damages.
The man was working on a construction site in Al Ain when he accidentally fell from a height and landed on the ground.
He suffered multiple bodily injuries that made it difficult for him to work normally and he had to rely on a crutch to help him walk.
The worker also had difficulty running and sitting normally due to his injuries.
The criminal court of first instance had previously convicted the construction company of negligence and failure to comply with necessary safety requirements for its workers.
The Asian man then filed a civil lawsuit against the company demanding compensation.
The construction company will pay the worker’s legal fees.
