“Snowy roads can turn any mundane drive into a feast for the senses. The stakes are higher, the roads are quieter, grip is limited. I like the heightened sense of awareness that a snowy driving – look a little further ahead for hazards, leave a little extra space between cars since we don’t know anything about the skill level of the next driver (or the condition of their tyres).
“I also like the feeling of having left the house knowing that I am well prepared: snow tires, warm clothes, tow straps and other emergency supplies in the back – just in case.
“Every ride in the snow is a mini-adventure that (under the right circumstances) can be savored.”
It’s a dangerous business, getting out of your doorstep. You enter the road, and if you don’t keep your feet there’s no telling where you could be swept away.
