Al Qatami added, “Commemorative stamps are effective tools for the cultural documentation of major events and occasions, and we at EPG are keen to issue them to celebrate such occasions. We are very proud to promote this award, which is one of the most important Holy Quran awards and contests in the world. Besides encouraging and supporting people who have memorized the Holy Quran [Huffaz] through competitions and activities, and recognizing those who excel, we are also proud to highlight its role in developing the culture and studies of the Holy Quran locally, regionally and internationally.
Ahmed Al Zahid, a member of the organizing committee and spokesman for the award, said the award was established under the guidance of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates and Sovereign from Dubai.
“We are grateful to him and pray to Allah to protect and bless him for presenting such an exceptional gift to the world by creating an international award that highlights the importance of the Holy Quran and recognizes and honors those who memorize it of all ages. and nationalities,” he added.
Al Zahid added that the organizing committee has prepared a diverse program to celebrate the Silver Jubilee of the prize as directed by Ibrahim Mohammed Bu Melha, Advisor to the Ruler of Dubai for Cultural and Humanitarian Affairs and President of the prize. The celebration included the collaboration with EPG, through which the commemorative stamp was issued.
The DIHQ Prize has a wide range of local and international followers, especially with its two international competitions, the Dubai International Holy Quran Competition for Boys and the Sheikha Fatima Bint Mubarak International Holy Quran Competition for Girls, which have attracted large audiences and positive feedback.
The award was created with two divisions: “The International Holy Quran Competition” and “Islamic Personality of the Year”. It has been expanded to include 12 new divisions, which are: “Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Mus’haf”; ‘Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Center for Quranic Manuscripts’; the “International Holy Quran Sheikha Fatima Bint Mubarak Competition”; ‘Sheikha Hind Bint Maktoum Holy Quran Competition’; ‘Sheikh Rashid bin Mohammed Competition for the most beautiful recitation’; “UAE National Memorization Program”; “Memorization of the Koran in punitive and correctional establishments”; “Program of conferences and seminars, program of research and studies”; “Program of recitations (Qiraat)”; ‘Recorded Mus’haf program’; and the “Scientific Miracles in the Holy Quran” program.
