Abu Dhabi/Dubai: As the country heads into the cooler months, many residents are now making travel plans over the upcoming long weekend, based on the country’s unified holiday calendar.
Residents of the United Arab Emirates will enjoy the last long weekend of 2022 as the nation celebrates Memorial Day (formerly known as Martyrs’ Day), which is observed on November 30 each year.
However, a public holiday for the same is given on December 1 (Thursday).
It will be followed by the national holiday, celebrated on December 2 and 3 (Friday and Saturday).
As December 4 falls on a Sunday, a non-working day of the UAE working week, this allows residents to plan short trips abroad or stays in the county.

The UAE has unified public and private sector holidays.
