(ANSAmed) – NAPLES, NOV 28 – Al-Dhaid fort in the emirate of Sharjah will be the focus of a series of initiatives starting in the coming days ahead of the UAE’s 51st National Day on December 2.
The celebrations begin in Sharjah on Tuesday, November 29 and will continue through December 2 with marches, camel races, traditional folk performances, prizes for participants and more, Gulf News reported.
Al Dhaid Fort will host the festivities, organized by the Sharjah National Day Celebrations Committee.
“On the first day, the celebrations will take place from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. while the rest of the days will see the celebrations during the evening. On November 29, the celebrations at Al Dhaid Fort will be followed by cultural folk performances,” he said. he adds. Noted.
“Over the next three days of nightly celebrations, from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m., the public will be able to enjoy traditional dance performances, folk performances, patriotic songs and ballads, competitions, prizes and art workshops.” On December 2, “the official march, camel races, traditional folk performances and other popular events will take place,” he reported.
There will also be activities for children.
Other initiatives in the United Arab Emirates will take place in the sea area of Khawr Fakkan, where there will be performances by artists like Eida Al Menhali and Diana Haddad at the amphitheater on December 3.
“Khorfakkan Beach will also host a variety of activities from December 1-3 which will include cultural dances and performances, children’s workshops, traditional food and other activities,” Gulf News said.
Rashid Khamis Obaid Al Naqbi, Head of Khorfakkan Municipal Council, said: “Our joy in our nation is renewed at the dawn of each new day. But on the National Day, it becomes a celebration for citizens, residents and visitors. Khorfakkan, the whole city welcomes all those who wish to celebrate this beautiful national holiday; this melody that runs from the mountains of Khorfakkan to its shores.” The celebrations will take place across the country and the UAE has decided to close all government offices between December 1 and 4.
Emirates Palace Abu Dhabi will also feature a packed schedule of National Day events, starting today and continuing through December 2 with fireworks in the evening.
The date marks the unification of six emirates in 1971, creating the United Arab Emirates. The following year, the seventh, Ras Al Khaimah, was added. (ANS Amed).
