Dubai: It’s a foggy start to the week for residents of the United Arab Emirates and the meteorological office issued alerts due to haze on Monday.
Fog engulfed parts of Abu Dhabi such as the Al Dhafra area, Sharjah Airport, Al Maktoum International Airport in Dubai, parts of Ajman and Umm Al Quwain and drivers were warned to drive carefully. The National Meteorological Center (NCM) has issued yellow and red alerts due to the haze, which is expected to last until 9 a.m.
Abu Dhabi police have warned drivers to drive carefully and obey speed limits.
According to the NCM, skies across the UAE are expected to be sunny to partly cloudy for the rest of the day.
The winds are expected to blow repeatedly, at speeds of 10 to 20 km/h, sometimes reaching up to 30 km/h
The maximum humidity should reach 90%. Humidity is expected to be highest at night and Tuesday morning over coastal areas.
Dubai is currently at 27°C with hazy, misty skies.
The sea should be relatively calm.
